Candida & the Master Cleanse - A Huge Mistake

If you are focused on utilizing natural solutions to manage your Candida symptoms, you may initially find the Master Cleanse appealing. With so much positive press surrounding the benefits of the Master Cleanse, it is natural to wonder if its benefits will apply to you and whether there will be any negative side effects experienced. While you may lose weight and feel some cleansing benefit from this popular cleanse, individuals suffering from Candida are advised NOT follow the Master Cleanse program.
The Master Cleanse Program Fuels Yeast Growth
The sugar content found within the Master Cleanse program actually exacerbates symptoms of yeast growth. Maple syrup, one of the primary ingredients of this cleanse, is nearly 100% sugar. If you were to follow the program guidelines exactly, you would be ingesting nearly 1 pound of sugar daily! Because of the amounts of sugar is ingested throughout the Master Cleanse, individuals with Candida often experience a sharp incline in their yeast production, the exact opposite of the effect desired.
Unintended Health Consequences can Result
While you are intensely focused on managing your Candida symptoms, other unintended health consequences can develop if you dive into the Master Cleanse program. Ingesting the high sugar content contained within this cleanse will not only foster the natural growth of yeast but will also work to alter the body’s natural glucose balance. Even when this change occurs temporarily, excessive production of insulin to balance the glucose spike can cause unintended health consequences such as borderline diabetes (chronic levels of high blood sugar) or hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
Not only could you exacerbate your Candida symptoms but you could end up with problems controlling your glucose levels as a result of this cleanse. To make matter worse, those not already suffering from Candida may put themselves at a higher risk of developing an infection because of the introduction of high-sugar-content beverages into their diets.
Fasting can Cause more Damage than Benefit
There is a significant amount of debate within the medical and alternative health communities surrounding whether or not fasting is healthy for the body. While the intended purpose of fasting, the removal of excessive proteins from the body, may be achieved most health professionals suggest that there are fasting/cleansing techniques that are much healthier for the body. If a cleanse is not done properly, it can cause the body to believe it is at risk of starving and begin attacking itself. When the body begins to attack itself, it begins to take vital nutrients from fat deposits, organs and muscles in order to gain the fuel it believes it needs to survive.
With this in mind, it’s easy to see how the Master Cleanse diet can negatively impact your health. You’ll not only foster the growth of Candida but will also rob much-needed nutrients from the rest of your body, making it even more difficult to fight your Candida infection.
Focusing on better daily food choices, managing lifestyle choices and maintaining a high level of physical fitness over time will allow your body to function at an optimal level, producing results that are similar to those you might’ve achieved while fasting - only healthier. It hardly seems worth it to potentially damage your body for the mere possibility of losing weight or cleansing toxins from your system with the Master Cleanse.
Are you prepared to deal with enhanced Candida side effects? If not, avoid the Master Cleanse at all costs. Increased Candida growth coupled with other dangerous health complications should be enough to encourage you to find another way to treat your Candida symptoms. Alternative options, like the Candida Diet, have the potential to be much more effective (and safer)!
